Two titans of the filmmaking world! First Ingmar Bergman dies, and then the same day Michelangelo Antonioni! What is going on?? The end of an era. Many may have thought the era ended years ago. These directors haven’t been in the limelight for years but they have remained relevant and have been making movies for over 50 years.

Most are familiar with The Passenger, Blow-UP, Zabriskie Point (written with Sam Shepard), Red Dessert and L’Avventura.

He was nominated twice but never got an Oscar until the honorary Oscar in 1995. However, he won almost every other filmmaking award around the world, 35 in total, including 4 wins at Cannes.
